Between Christmas and New Year's, we spent a week in Egtved, in southern Denmark. It's a beautiful and more rural part of the country. We felt so lucky to spend some time with friends both American and Danish. Here's a little tour of some highlights.

This is the view from Runkebjerg, or "Wrinkly Mountain."
Here's E standing on top of a barrow. It's a reconstruction of a Bronze Age burial site.
Still looking down from the barrow, an oak tree. The name "Egtved" comes from old Danish for "two oaks."
E with our American friends M and S! (But they are honorary Danes).
A typical Danish farmhouse, north of Egtved.
Another tree.
M and S wave at us during the descent from Runkebjerg.
The aftermath of our wild New Year's Eve festivities (which included watching Dronning Margrethe's speech and toasting her!)
Walking through the Danish countryside with our lovely and gracious host Danish L.
The frosty morning view from L's window.
