Today we went for a festive holiday outing in the city. We did some shopping, and visited our favorite local nisser. They live in the window at Salling, the local department store, at least at Christmastime. We're pretty sure that the rest of the year they live in Greenland. Here you can see them helping out at the candy factory.
On the way home, we passed some small Danes (8 or 9 years old) waiting outside a furniture shop, sitting in big chairs and singing with great gusto:
"Ooooo! It's hard to be a nissemand!"
*pause for breath*
"Ooooo! It's hard to be a nissemand!"
(repeat)
Hilarious.
